Indian Comedian Vir Das cause a stir with two Indian monologue. While he shows two Indian side and after his video came to light , Where political and social controversy erupted in the country, cases were also filed against him. Lets have a look more into this.
A stand up comedian perform a show “I came from two India”. He wanted to show in his speech dual personalities in India. While he uploaded this video to his official YouTube account. And within 2 days it crosses more than 2 million views. He performed this show in at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. While he wrote a caption below his YouTube video “We made some noise and applauded the country we love, and are proud of. Just something I wrote on the morning of the show. After many laughs, we stuck around and filmed it.”
In this video Vir Das doesn’t even any fear he showed the two side in show “I come from two India’s”. In this speech he said “I came from two India’s. Those are the Indians I bring on stage with me right now” I come from an India where the AQI is 9000 but we still sleep on the roof and look up at the stars.
“I come from an India where we worship women during the day and gang rape them at night.
“I come from an India where we claim to be divided over Bollywood on twitter. And yet are united by Bollywood in the darkness of theatre”.
“I come from an India where we take pride in being vegetarian, and yet run over the farmers who grow our vegetables”.
“I came from an India where old leaders will not stop talking about their dead fathers. And young leaders will not stop following their living mothers”.
On this speech many Bollywood celebrities have appreciated the comedian for showing up the truth fearlessly. But on the other side many people called him a traitor and a person who defamed the country and the nation. While he has received support from some Bollywood celebrities, opposition leaders and Indian journalist.
Also film maker Ashoke Pandit said “My take on act of terrorism by #Virdas in a foreign land. This is a very serious matter. These people go abroad and abuse India. Any Indian who abuses India on a foreign land is an agent of terrorism”. While on the other side he has received support from Bollywood celebrities, opposition leaders and Indian journalist.
